You apply for the job of your dreams and while your CV percolates through their system, you get on with life. Several weeks go by and you notice nothing has come back from the company. You begin to wonder what the snarl-up is. You quickly re-examine your CV and conform that you typed your email, mobile and telephone numbers correctly.
One day you are on Google searching the web for a book. As an experiment you put your own name into Google to see what results. The first three entries are what you would expect; your Facebook page, Your Twitter page and your LinkedIn page, but to your horror you see an article about a rape that you were accused of and cleared. Then you get a horrible epiphany - anyone that reads your CV is going to search on your name and would probably see the offending article.
